Ernewein's are WOAA Champs
The John Ernewein Juvenile Capitals are the 2007-2008 WOAA champions!
It took five games and the Juvy Capitals kept their home undefeated streak alive with a 3-2 come from behind victory over last years OMHA champion Listowel Cyclones. Coach Paul Zippel commented that "the key to the win was solid play in our own end. We minimized the number of scoring opportunities for Listowel. Our D men were consistently getting the puck out. The wingers weren't letting their D man keep the puck in. All in all we are very satisfied with the win, everybody contributed". Cody Anderson opened the scoring for Walkerton and Andy Zippel chipped in with both the tieing and winning goals. Andrew Hughes got the win in net. It was a solid team effort. Congratulations to Tyler Tilker, Andrew Hughes, Eric Pybus, Orrie Alexander, Mark Kelly, Trent McTeer, Al Fry, Justin Hopkins, Jeremy Wright, Mike Dennie, Mitch Dentiger, Matt Thompson, Cody Anderson, Corbin Gaynor, Scott Kittel, Tyson Lair, Jared Clancy, Neil Anstett, Andy Zippel, Kurt Grubb, Rory O'Hagan and Brandon Coghlin. The team would like to thank Keith Anstett and Bo Louther for the timekeeping and music. Our next opponent is from Stirling (near Belleville). Incidentally they were the North American Silver Stick Juvenile finalists.
