Back to back wins for the Walkerton Pee Wee Reps has created a little bit of excitement amongst the team. Both games, versus Saugeen Shores AE and West Grey, were evidence that hard work pays off.
We all knew early on that this could be a challenging year for our group, and for a number of reasons. But one thing the coaching staff has tried to instill early on has been effort, and how that alone can beat skill. Even many of the pros will tell you that grit outperforms talent.
When our group decides to put in the effort, and play with some aggression, it makes for an entertaining hockey game. Kudos to the boys, especially in their game against West Grey, for doing just that. Coming back from a deficit, they refused to give up, got pucks to the net, and more importantly, in the net. Game two, against Saugeen Shores, was perhaps a little lighter, but a 7-3 victory showed what can happen when we attack in the offensive zone.
