Stronger Second Game for Peewee Rep
The second game in the playoffs for the Legion Peewee Rep boys was a much stronger show against the Mitchell Meteors. Home ice must have made the difference as the support and encouragement from our devoted fans inspired the home team.
Scoring began early for Mitchell when they managed to find a spot only 15 seconds into the game. Walkerton held strong and kept the play evenly matched for the remainder of the first. During the second period Mitchell added their second goal.
Walkerton waited for their chance and found it when Chase Louther tallied one unassisted. With excellent advice from the coaching staff (Paul Charette, Shawn Eckert, Paul Goetz and Paul Hudson), Walkerton showed off their impressive defensive and offensive skill. The third period saw a battle of wills, with many solid chances for Walkerton. Mitchell found the net one last time to bring the score to 3-1. Goalies Jonah Hudson and Jesse Lamont were fiercely determined and held the opponents at bay until the final buzzer. A great effort by the entire team.
