Fritz Boys Start Semi-Finals With A Win
Semi-Final play for the Fritz Concrete Novice Rep Team is against the Mitchell Meteors who arrived in Walkerton this morning for a 10 am game. The Home Team lit up the score board first with 3 minutes left in the first period on an unassisted goal by Carter Buehlow. Sam Lowry Young scored unassisted in the second period to give Walkerton a comfortable 2 goal lead.
The Mitchell team however was not ready to give up and tallied two goals within seconds of each other to tie the game with just over 4 minutes left in the third period. After a brief time out Walkerton applied the pressure and with 1:08 left in the game Evan Visser tipped the puck in on a pass from Austin Kelly and Hunter Zettler.
Early to bed tonight for the team, especially for those Hawks Fans, who will miss tomorrow's game in Hanover while they are working on game 2 of their own series in Mitchell at 6 pm.
Both the Fritz Concrete Boys and the Hawks hope to take a 2-0 lead in the series tomorrow but it will be tough away games for both teams!
