Cornerstone Picked up the Mitchell Game in the Second
In a late afternoon game in Mitchell, Cornerstone started the game off on their heels.  The first period was dominated by Mitchell until Cornerstone found the fire they needed in the second period.  With a one nothing lead for Mitchell, heading into the second period, Cornerstone finally found the heat that they were looking for.  Coming out strong in the second period, the line with Calvin Wilson and Austin Kelly found the open man sitting in front of the net.  Gordon McKee vigilantly waited in front of the Mitchell net, while team mates Kelly and Wilson worked for the puck, Calvin finally fought the puck free, passing it off to Austin who shot on net & it was Gordon, who banged one home for Cornerstone.

Walkerton Cornerstone was ready to cut loose after that.  Defenseman, MacKenzie McTeer drove to the Mitchell net with one mission in mind, to get our second goal of the game.  And he did not disappoint, finding the opposition heavy on him, he shot to the net where an open Calvin Wilson sat for the rebound, instead he simply tipped the puck in, giving him the second goal of the game and MacKenzie the assist.  Cornerstone defenseman MacKenzie McTeer was not done yet.  He found himself with the open opportunity to drive to the net once again, skating with Connor Johnson by his side, MacKenzie was able to send home our third goal of the game, unassisted.  Cornerstone worked the last two periods heavy on defense, with a great showing from Ty Arnold, Dorian Charrette and Curtis Al; making it more difficult for Mitchell to find their scoring chances.
Third period found both teams working defensively.  Both worked hard right up to the end.  But Connor Johnson found one last chance to up the score.  With our forwards working hard and shooting consistently at the net, Connor finally shot one past the Mitchell goalie.  Leaving the score 4 to 1 for Cornerstone.  Giving us a kick off into the playoffs.
